100 ton 'Suleiman' class Scout/Courier
Still Renders
I've always hated the Suleiman or 'Wedgie' design for the 100ton Scout. It's one of the most unimaginative ship designs I've ever come across and yet, it is much beloved of Traveller players. Quite simply it's as much a part of the Traveller mythos as the Millenium Falcon is part of Star Wars or the TARDIS is part of Doctor WHO. I tried a redesign which can also be found next to this one, but though I'm pleased with my redesign, it's just not a Suleiman and never will be. Faced with this, I decided to roll up my sleeves and make the damned thing work for me. If it must be a wedge shape then I was determined it would make sense.
I've already begun a 100 ton scout for the classic rules, so for the volumes on this one, I took an average between the T20 and GT 100 Ton Scout/Courier so the measurements are not accurate to any game really. I arranged all the volumes into reasonable positions and then began figuring out where the landing gears would go, how would the air raft get in and out of the ship? How would the players and the cargo get on and off? etc etc.
This page will eventually include renders, deckplans, cutaways, animations, stats and maybe even related scenarios. Until then What I have here are renders of the exterior model sat in a desert scene.
The grey blob seen nestling beneath the ship is a placeholder volume for an airraft on it's loading cradle. This is a similar idea to the one I've used on my Florian Scout.
