How to use the Marvellous Mechanical Miniature Maker:

Drag the desired body parts and uniform to the standup tab at the top of the screen as shown. To move the pieces, simply hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse.

When you are happy with the miniature that you have created, hold down the ALT key and press the 'Print Screen' key (usually found in the top-right corner of your keyboard at the end of the top row of 'F' keys). This will take a snap shot of whatever is on your screen at the moment. Now open a paint package of your choice and create a new file. Paste the screen grab into the file. Now crop the image down to the edges of the standup tabs like so:

You need to be able to print the image at 150dpi or it will print too large. If you are using Windows Paint, I don't believe it is capable of rescaling the dpi of an image. However, if you save this image:

...and open it in Windows Paint, it is 150dpi. Copy and paste your cropped miniature into it and then it will print at the right scale even if you save it and re-open it (or so I believe). Alternatively word processors such as Microsoft Word will resize an image to a desired measurement, so you may find that less fiddly to do.

Once you have printed your miniature out, cut it and fold it like so, trimming the sides and top close to the figure:

The finished thing should look like this and be 28mm tall or so...

If you've moved everything and made a mess then hitting the refresh button at the top of your browser will reset the page - WARNING: if you have a miniature made up it will also be reset and lost!!
